I've been studying his work for three years now. I stumbled upon Vervoordt's work just brousing interior decor websites and blogs. I had been searching for concepts that spoke to my soul and when I first discovered his company the Kanaal and his private home, Gravenwesel Castle, my mouth dropped and my eyes filled with tears. Vervoordt's work is what I was looking for. I'm an architect, who's a fanatic with interior design, decorating and furniture collecting. Vervoordt's thougt process with texture, color, shapes, balance, shade and light is all ingenius. His infusion of ancient/tribal artifacts with modern elements are provocative. Vervoordt creates not just beautiful spaces. He creates sanctuaries. That's what sets him apart from the rest. Two other talented designers to study are the works of Rose Tarlow and Darrell Carter.
