Eden Rocks

Hello! Just got back from a wonderful long-overdue vacation with my hubs (no kids) in Miami Beach and Key West.  It was awesome and Miami Beach was more beautiful than ever. We did a lot of non-touristy stuff all over the city and discovered how much we both love the place…

Our stay at the historic Eden Roc Resort & Spa, totally redone and a dream, was unforgettable…the food, all farm-to-table fresh at the renowned 1500° restaurant, was simply succulent…the grounds amazing with 3 infinity pools, 2 hot tubs & the Atlantic Ocean everywhere you turn…the gym gorgeous with an ocean front view…and best of all was the luxurious bed, with the top-notch mattress, crisp white linens and tons of fluffy down pillows, just the way we like it!

My hubs went to the University of Miami and I think he left his heart in South Florida many years ago…and I also have fond memories visiting Miami in the summers on my way to Colombia.  Scott loves the Spanish culture and so do I, of course.  With so much to offer (to-die-for real estate, relaxed lifestyle & gorgeous weather), we are considering a move there after our kids are all off to college…

I’ve been busy working with my private clients and at Restoration and planning my return to school (hopefully in the fall) to study graphic design at the Moore College of Art & Design in Philadelphia. I already have a degree, but I’ve always been interested in exploring other areas of design, so I’m gonna go for it!  Hope you all are well…see you soon xocc ♥

I gotta have…special guest post edition by design shuffle

Welcome back to me after a crazy week full of graduations and celebrations.  Today I am pleased to introduce Susi from the awesome Design Shuffle and also welcome YOU to StonehouseLove’s very first guest…

Hi all! I’m Susi and I write as a guest blogger for DesignShuffle.com, a fabulous social media site that promotes interior designers from around the world and their fabulous interior design ideas. My writing focuses on things I’m passionate about: interior design, home furnishings, gardening and art. I get to look at gorgeous things all day and write about them. My dream job! I found StonehouseLove blog and adore it.

I am delighted to be a part of StonehouseLove’s ‘I gotta have’ series today. These are the things I’m loving this week. It’s an eclectic mix between an entire store in Provincetown, MA and old school oil lanterns with a few home decorating ideas thrown in. I hope you enjoy it!

Terrain (via)

To say that I love Anthropologie would be an understatement. Add their brand, Terrain at Skyler’s, to the mix and I may love them even more. Their products focus on the garden, outdoors and garden-inspired designs, Terrain is full of gorgeous products for inside and out. Love this cabinet, would fill it with curiosities and books to create my own cabinet of curiosities.

Terrain (via)

Yes, I’ll admit I still love s’mores. But the whole idea of using a real stick, I don’t love. Enter these cast iron twig skewers. You could even use them for vegetables, if you wanted.

Anthropologie (via)

Speaking of Anthropologie again, I’m loving this spiny lobster rug. Just can’t decide where to put it. Bedroom? Living room? Sunporch? Decisions, decisions.

Garret Wade (via)

German made hurricane oil lamps. Perfect for lining a stone wall or a table for outdoor feast. Will burn for 20 hours and are virtually impossible to blow out. High functioning style I gotta have it!

Target (via)

John Derian. Cutlery appetizer plates. Melamine. On sale. Gotta have them… now! Before they are all gone!

The Cutting Edge of Ordinary (via)

Not sure how I decided to include strawberry rhubarb crisp on the list of gotta haves, but once I started thinking about it, well, I couldn’t stop. Local (Boston) strawberries and rhubarb just happen to come into season together. I’ll definitely be making some soon. My fave recipe comes from Ezra Pound Cake (love the name).

Hammocks & High Tea (via)

Adore Hammocks & High Tea for their name alone. Then I discovered their scented drawer liners, in fantastic scents and patterns. Vetiver and mandarin, rose and jasmine are both favorites, but then tried and true lavender is what we chose to line the shelves of our linen closet to give our linens that ‘dried in the Provence sun’ fresh scent.

Wiley Valentine (via)

From the amazing Provincetown, MA store, Yates and Kennedy, I am quite fond of the silhouette of the woman with the bird’s nest on her head. I love the whole Victorian aesthetic of the shop. It will inundate you with interior design ideas.

no parking in this city

Park City, Utah is…a little skiing, a little Sundance, a little Wild West, a little Alt Summit…and a whole lot of pretty…

…hip boutiques, saloons & eateries, art galleries, theatres & screening rooms are everywhere…my head was literally spinning…trying to take it all in…

…paparazzi trying to get a shot of James Franco (127 hours) chatting up his fans…

the narrow, winding main drag was bursting at the seams with the filmmaking set, the alt summit designer & blogger set (hee hee, that’s me, more on alt summit later this week), stylish celebrities, skiers, photographers, etc…the energy was kinetic and palpable…

and if all this beauty isn’t enough, it was snowing and freezing (perfect for snuggling with your loved one)…everything I expected & wanted…divine…and so much fun…xocc
