THE HEY LITTLE DIDDLE STORY

Hey Little Diddle is back as an online indie baby boutique after 13 years as an award-winning bricks & mortar baby & lifestyle boutique on the Main Line, first in Bala Cynwyd and then in Narberth, PA.

Founded in 1994 by Claudia and her sister, Maria Lucoff (now a LEED-certified interior architect and I am so incredibly proud of her!), Hey Little Diddle opened its shop doors to an incredibly supportive & receptive community.  The sisters’ relaxed California style and sophisticated European aesthetic quickly became a huge hit. Housed in a beautiful stone cottage, the store became the go-to emporium for young moms to shop for designer and handmade clothing, bed linens, furnishings and gifts. Claudia & Maria used their unique creative talents to establish a successful interior design business through Hey Little Diddle.

Claudia remains true to Hey Little Diddle’s roots by selling baby things made by indie designers & artisans and by supporting brands that are committed to responsible social & environmental initiatives & practices.  Claudia also offers custom-designed (& sewn) baby & toddler bedding & clothing.

CLAUDIA CLOBES YUDIS, C.I.D. BIO

Born in Colombia, Claudia and her family moved to Washington, D.C. when she was one year old. After spending her formative years in the D.C. area and her summers in South America, Claudia received a BA from the University of Maryland at College Park, where she focused her attention on art history, interior design and museum curatorial studies.

After a European trip upon graduation, Claudia quickly got to work on her dream to own a retail store and become an interior decorator. Mercantilism is in Claudia’s blood after all, her maternal grandfather was a South American leather dealer, owned a shoe factory and founded a chain of retail shoe stores. Her paternal grandmother was a haute couture wedding gown designer. Driven by a deep-seated entrepreneurial spirit, she worked her way up through the ranks and became a shoe buyer at an international shoe company based in New York City, where she experienced firsthand all the ins and outs of the specialty retail and manufacturing trade.

In 2006, both sisters wanted to spend more time with their kids, focus on some personal career goals and explore new territory. Maria earned a master’s degree and is now pursuing a career in interior architecture and design. Claudia founded Claudia Clobes Interiors, where she spends most of her time designing interiors, her true love. Claudia figured that before long, those young moms that comprised Hey Little Diddle’s loyal clientele (and who embraced her design aesthetic) would be calling to decorate their homes. She was right and the rest, as they say, is history.

To our loyal clients and customers, thank you. If you are new, a warm welcome.
